Mark Penney - Co-CEO/Producer/Director/Writer

Mark Penney is a Canadian experimental filmmaker, actor, entrepreneur, businessman, writer, musician, composer and artist. Mark began his career in Christian television at the age of 16 before working as a camera assistant on many commercials and Hollywood productions. In 2003 Mark began directing features with the 2004 film The Right Way which screened at many international film festivals and had a further limited theatrical and video on demand release in the United States. He followed that up with the 2007 experimental abstract feature Life and the 2013 Canadian love story The Beautiful Risk which screened at many festivals and was a hit on DVD and video on demand services, The experimental drama Calla Lily was released in 2016 and was a hit in Germany and Eastern Europe reaching the top 10 in digital sales charts. Mark experimented with 360-degree video on the 2017 feature Joan and in 2019 made two experimental futurist films with Decline and Death.

Mark Attended Seneca College and York University.

Ryan Penney - Co-CEO/Producer

Ryan produced “The Right Way”, maximizing its micro budget and securing its place in film festivals across the world. Prior to entering the film industry, He attended Columbia University’s prestigious economics program. Penney’s budgetary management skills led the National Post to say “the production values are very high” on The Right Way, “it looks like it cost ten times as much as it did.”* He also sold all the territories for Mark Penney’s second dramatic feature “The Beautiful Risk”. Ryan will be in charge of all the business decisions for MOR film.
